S.T.E.P.

 

                                   

 

STEP is a transition program that prepares students with disabilities for meaningful work, independent living, and full community participation after high school. Through a joint agreement between the Department of Rehabilitation Services and Woodford County Special Education Association, students develop skills and gain experience, as they progress to more demanding, communtiy based jobs. Employers are a critical component to the program's success.

 

      PROGRAM GOALS

     WCSEA OFFERS:

  • To assist students in developing
    desirable work habits and realistic
    career goals

  • To provide opportunities for 
    students to explore careers and
    gain meaningful work experiences
    through on-the-job-placement
  • To teach pre-employment skills
    which are necessary for entry into 
    the job market
  • To help students develop the social
    and personal skills to maintain
    successful employment.
